The courage to fail and try again

It's worth mentioning that I became a music junky in 2007. And it was that boom-bap underground sound that pulled me in. Then later on I found jazz and soul.

I say all of that to give you context as to where my ears look for light. The initial idea was to make a Chillhop beat following a similar structure as a jazz trio band. I thought that if I worked with only 3 instruments I might have a better chance at making something that sounds finished. And "finished" it was.

A key influence was Robert Glasper's trio work. I thought that if I could try to replicate some part of their music, I'd come out with something that sounds good. To be honest... it felt like I was shooting in the dark until I broke down what I was hearing in Robert Glasper's work.

experience the project

What we have is a mellowed vibe. Ambient and in-the-moment sounds that can make you slow down. It's textured surprises and ear candy where you least expect it. It's both the warmth of morning sun rays and the cool of evening ambience. All packed into 4 short tracks.

It is the perfect soundtrack for a weekend with no plans.

After everything, I get to be proud of what I made. It's taken so many years for me to make something of this kind. So now, I have the perfect soundtrack for washing dishes or just hanging out on my balcony. Cheers to the weekend!
